You may wonder what Turbines have to do with Boats and Skiing in the directory title.
Well I'm a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer specialising in Gas Turbines and offshore work and am available for work at present so would like to catch the attention of any prospective employers out there on the Web.

My main hobbies are ski-ing and my small 20 ft river cruiser 'TigerLily', and when not working spend as much time as possible on skis or on the boat. Since ski-ing means I have to travel to find the snow, this usually means that I'm messing about on the river. Unfortunately, the local waters are limited to 4 mph, so I cannot water-ski, although the boat is quite cabable of 30 knots in open water - very frustrating!
For those interested in technical details, the boat is a 'Norman 20' fibreglass cruiser built in 1980 with an OMC 120hp inboard/sterndrive. These are a fairly common boat around the small rivers and canals in the UK, but are generally fitted with a 10 to 20hp outboard. Ours has surprised one or two other boaters trying to show off their 'superior' boats on the odd occasion we have been on open water.
When at home I am a contributor to the newsgroup uk.rec.waterways , where you will find many interesting articles about the British waterways, and a lot about the narrowboats that ply the canals, with a small amount about 'plastic' boats like mine.

I am also a member of Lincoln Boat Club, and have recently written a web page for the club with details of our cruising program etc, and navigation details for local waters.
The following links are to pages related to boats that I have found interesting.
