Engineering firm seeking a structural
engineer for its Hicksville, NY office. Requirements include B.S
in Civil Engineering, At least 3 months hands-on experirence, EIT
certification.
Responsibilities Include:
- Participate in planning, designing and
reviewing plans for structural systems in accordance with
applicable local state and federal standards, e.g. IBC,
UBC, ASCE, ACI, BOCA.
- Perform gravity and lateral analysis
using engineering software, STAAD-Pro and RAM.
- Calculate loading requirements to
ensure compliance to ASCE-7 and applicable building codes.
- Perform design calculations and review
shop drawings.
- Prepare structural drawings using
AutoCAD 2000.
- Inspect construction sites to monitor
progress and investigate problems.
- Provide immediate technical solutions
for structural emergencies.
- Make recommendations for retrofit and
modifications.
