How to produce
this animated GIF




Press [MODE] and select Graph....... POLAR, Angle....... DEGREE.

In the Y= screen, enter the equation
r1 = 2sin(2q)

Now set up the split screen by pressing [MODE] and in Page 2 select:

From the GRAPH screen, press [¨][WINDOW] and enter the settings as shown, so that the graph is properly proportioned:

Pressing [¨][GRAPH] will display the full graph.

Move across to the TABLE screen using [2nd][APPS]. Press [¨][TblSet] and enter tblStart: 0 , delta-tbl: 15. Also press [F1] 9:Format and enter Cell Width 5.

To produce the frames which make up the animation, we need to plot the graph one step at a time. Do this as follows. From the GRAPH screen, press [¨][WINDOW] and change the value of qmax to 15. Pressing [¨][GRAPH] will return you to the GRAPH screen, and show the first step:

Now continue the process, changing the value of qmax to 30, 45, 60 etc.

Use the TI-GRAPHLINK to capture each screenshot, copy each image into a graphics software package to save as a .gif file, and use these individual images with your chosen GIF Animation programme.
