How to produce
this animated GIF




In the Home screen, define f(x) as x2 - 2x by using the [STO>] button.

Split the screen by pressing [MODE], press F2 to go to Page 2, and select the following settings (while in MODE, check on Page 1 that Graph....... is set to FUNCTION):

In the GRAPH screen, press [¨] [WINDOW] and set the scale as:

(The xres = 5 is needed for the dotted graph)

In the Y= screen (remember that you switch screens by [2nd] [APPS] ) define y1 = f(x) and y2 = f(2x). Now move the cursor up to highlight y1 = f(x) and press [F6 Style] and select 2: DOT

Switching back to the GRAPH screen, you should see:

Returning to the Y= screen and editing y2 for different multiples of x will produce different graphs of the family y = f(ax).

Use the TI-GRAPHLINK to capture each screenshot, copy each image into a graphics software package to save as a .gif file, and use these individual images with your chosen GIF Animation programme.
