In the Autumn of 1996 Clydesdale received backing from the National Lottery with an award of £360,000 from the Scottish Sports Council's Lottery Sports Fund.
The £720,000 project was started in January 1997 with the construction of a sand-based astro-turf pitch which was completed in May 1997.
The work on the clubhouse facilities was started in January 1998 and the new changing rooms were operational in June 1998. The remainder of the clubhouse work was carried out throughout 1998 and 1999 with the final work being completed in November 1999.
The Playing Facilities
To cater for the modern requirements of top class hockey we have installed a synthetic hockey pitch, with floodlights. This is used during the day by local schools and is available for hire to clubs and local organisations .
Despite the installation of the hockey pitch Clydesdale has maintained a full size International cricket ground.

A changing room extension, with 4 changing rooms especially for hockey , females and umpires.
Disabled access and toilet facilities.
A small gymnasium.
A new kitchen, equipped for catering at major occasions.
An enlarged back lounge.
A new committee room and office for use by event organisers.
A new viewing terrace (above the changing room extension).
