NEW - A 6-inch and two 8-inch telescopes

This page features some of the telescopes made and work undertaken by the Bolton Astronomical Society trio of Gerald Bramall, Brian Webber and David Ratledge. Gerald is a self taught machinist specialising in aluminium fabrications. Brian is a optic maker of some renown having made tens of mirrors, a 5 inch object glass, a Maksutov and a Springfield mounted Newtonian. Myself I have been making telescopes for 35 years but still suffer from "aperture fever"!

The telescopes detailed here may be copied freely for private use but commercial copying is not permitted. If you want one making contact us first! If you want to know more we have put together a talk/slide show on Telescope Making - see Talks
