"das ich" are considered to be the most important electronic/industrial act using German lyrics and symphonic arrangements. In 1991 when their debut "die Propheten" was released, nobody could know, that the album would be the most successful debut of that dark musical genre, selling more than 30.000 records. The live-performances of Stefan Ackermann (Vocals) and Bruno Kramm (Electronics) established their cult-status and were and are considered to be exciting and sensationel - apocalyptic visions ("Gottes Tod") are expressed visually - and viciously. After having toured the U.S. first time this year, having rereleased the compilation "satanische verse" as well as having released the new CDS "stigma", "das ich" present their new album "staub" now. It took about 2 years to create this work, in which both the innovationthat characterized their debut, and modern industrial-elements (comp. "das ich im ich") were amalgamated.Harsh noise-loops beded into symphonic arrangements and combined thematically with the Holocaust of self-contempt in modern human society render "staub" a milestone for electronic music of the ninetees. 8 tracks which catapulted "das ich" to international significance and which carry on the tradition of the German industrial-electro-genre: From Kraftwerk to Einstürzende Neubauten and Die Krupps to "das ich". Soon after "staub", "das ich" released the brand new live album from the last European tour, called "feuer".This album shows that "das ich" isnt a back up band definitely. A secondary keyboardist and LA studiodrummer Chad Blinman perform together with Stefan and Bruno. A digital multitrack recording makes this album a pure enjoy of sound and live atmospheres.The album "staub" was released May 96 on Etherhaus/Tess distribution, Santa Barbara, CA.as remastered version from the european album plus special Bonus tracks. The "Die Propheten" album will be released domestically in the USA by Black Orchid, Miami in early january 97. A new period of their work starts with the actual release of the motion picture soundtrack "das innere ich" for the film "Das ewige Licht" directed and produced by Hans Helmut Haessler. This album contains soundspheres and dark ambient atmospheres, which fit perfectly to the smooth film sequences or if you havent seen this masterpiece, for your own "motion picture". The new album "egodram" will be out in spring 97. On this record they will feature again a more danceable uptempo style... In May 97 "das ich" will head for their next big tour through the USA...
