Las Baulas National Park & Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge

Location & Size: Guanacaste Province, Pacific coast, 552 Ha.

Characteristics: Tamarindo beach is the leatherback turtles nest from October until March.

Fauna: Nesting site for leatherback turtles. Also, 200 bird species have been identified.

Flora: Mangrove estuary, deciduous forest (frangipani, cacti, etc.)

Importance of the Park: Nesting site for the leatherback turtles.

Visitor facilities: No camping permitted.
