Rincón de la Vieja Mountain Lodge is located 55 Km. from the most beautiful beaches in Guanacaste and 30 kilometers from the International Airport in Liberia. It's in a mountainous zone, bordering Rincón de la Vieja National Park, 700 meters above sea level; where you can find 6 different habitats: dry-transitional-wet-rainy-paramo & cloud forest.

Within the park, there are 257 species of birds and 11,000 species of plants have been sighted; the park contains what is probably the largest existing colony of the national flower "Guaria Morada" (purple orchid) growing in the wild.

The rustic Rincón de la Vieja Mountain Lodge is a hotel converted from the main family house of a large "hacienda" or estate. It is a two­story structure with 16 double or multiple rooms. Outside there is a large garden with a swimming pool. There is also a scientific library, insect and butterfly collection, serpentarium and 300 hectares of land adjacent to Rincón de la Vieja National Park.
