The "Inn of the Mountain" or La Posada de la Montaña is high enough, at 4,500 feet elevation, to provide a spectacular view of the metropolis of San José and the Central Valley. Views of the Irazú Volcano across the valley, the coffee fields and mountains of Braulio Carrillo National Park are equally pleasing.

The "big house" at La Posada was completed in 1976 as a large private Costa Rican style home. Most bedrooms have private baths with hot water. Guests have full access to the huge living­dining area with television, the fully equipped kitchen and the partially glassed in terrace overlooking the grounds with a view of the mountains. There is direct dial telephone available if you just have to keep in touch.

The new suites include kitchen, sitting room with a wood-burning fireplace and bedroom, with adjoining bedroom available. A family or group may select a suite with one, two or three bedrooms. Guests in the suites also have full access to the "big house" facilities and complimentary breakfast. All bedrooms have private baths with hot water. A huge covered barbecue area is open for use by the guests or when the house "throws a party."
