La Pacífica Ecological Center and Hotel, is located 176 km from San José and lies close to the San JoséLiberia stretch of the Pan American Highway in the Bebedero River basin. It is bordered by the Corobicí and Tenorio rivers, which rise in the Guanacaste Volcanic Range Forestry Reserve, and is part of the planned ArenalTempisque Irrigation System, the water supply for some 60,000 hectares of the Dry Pacific Region.
La Pacífica has some extremely comfortable accommodation facilities. These includes a hotel complex with 33 individual cabins sleeping up to four people, with fans, private baths with hot water; swimming pools for adults and children, restaurants and rooms suitable for seminars, meetings, workshops and conventions (maximum cap. 60 people). There is also an exciting choice of outdoor activities, ranging from guided tours through the forest with experienced biologists to horseback riding, birdwatching, hiking on the nature trails or archeological zones and raft floating.
La Pacífica is an ideal position for making oneday trips and explore several of Costa Rica's most important National Parks and Reserves, including: Palo Verde, Barra Honda, Santa Rosa, Arenal and Lomas de Barbudal; guided day trips can be arranged to all these place as well as to Rincón de la Vieja National Park and Ostional Wildlife Refuge to see turtle nesting.
