8. The Green Season
The rainy season in Costa Rica, is now called the Green season as an effort to attract visitors to the country from mid-April through October (the rainiest month of the year).
Since traditionally this has been Costa Rica's low season for tourism, by not coming at this time, the tourist is missing all the splendor and full bloom of the national parks, reserves and tropical rain forests.
The weather during this period, especially in the Central Valley, is described as a repetitive pattern where the mornings are clear and the afternoons are characterized by thunderstorms showers, which last for 3 or 4 hours. T he nights are fresh and clear.
Along the coastal regions, the weather stays fairly consistent. Therefore, the rain should be viewed as a minor inconvenience, as during this time of the year the tourist will be able to do any itinerary in Costa Rica without the characteristic struggle of the high season (December thru April) and at very good competitive prices.
When thinking about Costa Rica, think in the upcoming Green Season, not as crowded as the high season and with good rates on accommodations, tours, airfares and most of all lots of space available!!!
