Hotel Buena Vista is a new hotel, it opened May 19, 1995, it is located in Alajuela, 15 minutes from Juan Santamaría International Airport. The road from the airport passes through the city of Alajuela, by the park and continues on to the Poás Volcano. The Hotel is about 6 km. from the center of the city and 1/2 block off this road at the top of the mountain and have a 360 degree view of the Central Valley. Behind, are the higher mountains with views of the Poás, Barva and Irazú volcanoes.

The hotel is nestled among coffee fields at an altitude of 4,185 feet. Buena Vista Hotel is a deluxe Hotel featuring rooms with 2 queen size beds, telephone and color television. Also, the Hotel has a swimming pool, bar and a gourmet restaurant. The Hotel is equipped to accommodate handicapped travelers and it also provides luggage storage for those going elsewhere, but planning to return to catch a plane home.
