Around Grazelema and Ubrique the jonquil N. cordubensis and tazetta N. papyraceus and its subspecies N. panizzianus grow intermingled. Although I have searched for many hours I have never found a hybrid between them.

N. cordubensis growing in large quantities along a farmer's path near Ronda. Despite many years of cultivation they still appear among the crops in the fields.
On one of his many visits to Spain Commander Stocken reported seeing a hybrid between N. papyraceus (or N. panizzianus) and the jonquil N. assoanus (formerly named N. juncifolius or N. requienii) (see RHS 1991-2 p45). On three occasions we have found different hybrids at this spot although the difficulty of reaching them has prevented me from obtaining a good slide. This is therefore included only for completeness.
