Hirobo's

Cobra Gunship

Fellow Hirobo enthusiast Brian Stewart decided to do something a little different. The result is this simply awesome Hirobo Cobra Gunship. Brian put this kit together over several months and I'll think you will agree his patience has been well rewarded.

The Cobra gunship uses an all new Hirobo mechanical set, but Tsurugi flyers will recognize the rotor head as being pure Tsurugi. This nylon rotor head is known for its strength and beautiful hovering capability, and it therefore makes the perfect match to the scale Cobra. The tail is driven via a speedometer type cable from and to, 90 degree gearboxes. Incidentally, this mechanical set is to be used on all the new scale helicopters.

One area that Brian really worked on, is the scale detail in the cockpit. For this, the Vario line of scale accessories were used. The detail is great, and also looks even better with a pilot installed (also Vario).

As usual, the glasswork on the fuselage is beautiful. Almost everyone thinks that my glass canopies on my Eagle and Tsurugi have been painted. Actually, they come out of the box that way. Brian had to prep and sand his though, and he finished it in a magnificent matt grey.

I will try to get Brian to send some pictures of his machine fully assembled and painted. Meanwhile, you can contact him at: bst864@airmail.net
