" Le four rouge" , former working farm dating from the 17th century, nestling in the hamlet of "la Chauvelais". Built in traditional French longere (long house) style and constructed in the main from local stone. The holiday accommodation we presently offer from the surrounding converted outbuildings include a detached one bedroomed cottage which is ideal for couples and a choice between 2 or 3 bedroomed family size cottage and gites. A larger detached cottage particularly suitable for persons of restricted mobility is also available.
An 11m x 7m swimming pool further enhances our tranquil rural location and provides an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday.

" Le four rouge " is situated in a private farm setting of two acres in the beautiful countryside of the Western Loire, three kilometres from the market town of Châteaubriant with its largely 16th century château overlooking the little river Chère,on the main route from Paris to La Baule.
Set on the borders of four main regions Loire-Atlantique, Ile et Vilaine, Maine et Loire and Mayenne, it creates an ideal base for touring the famous vineyards and chateaux of the Loire together with the local lakes, forests and beaches. It is easily accessible from all the main Channel ferry ports, approximately 90 minutes from St. Malo, and further serviced by the international airport at Nantes and express train service (T.G.V) into Rennes.
