The Redcoats Were Here
Nine cars braved the relocation of rally centre to historic Fredericksburg, VA to enjoy transplanted Indianan Dave Head's monte carlo rally. With 5 point maxes, and half minute spacing between cars, things were tight - even for the checkpoint crews - who seemed to pop up in the most unlikely places. Scores were tight, but still with obvious separations for the July 13 running of The Redcoats Were Here, results of which are available now. Control numbers scored are numbered by the NRI that identified them in the route instructions. Classes are: Rookie-R, Beginner-B, Novice-N, Advanced Unequipped-AU, Semi-equipped-SE, and equipped-E.

Results from the Catoctin Monte VII, October 12, 1997.
Contestants from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and SW Virginia joined the local crowd in a tour through the Catoctin Mountains up to Pennsylvania and back. Although there was noticeably less dirt this year than in previous events, what was there seemed to catch a number of contestants unawares, for some pretty dirty scores on an otherwise good day for most teams.

Results from the Lord Calvert '97, November 9, 1997.
The Second Annual Lord Calvert Memorial Rally, a Monte Carlo-style TSD event co-sponsored by the Branded Rally Club of Maryland and the town of North Beach, MD, was held on November 9, 1997. In spite of weather conditions more conducive to waterfowl than humans, 28 hardy drivers and their equally stalwart navigators set off on a 75 mile trek through eastern Anne Arundel and Calvert Counties. Due in large measure to intensive local advertising, a significant portion of the registrants were rookies, making for an interesting day for the soggy control workers. In the end, though, Rallymaster Rich Romer walked to the dais and announced the following winners, each awarded a memento of the event by the Mayor of this well-kept little municipal secret on the west shore of the Chesapeake Bay.
