Bob Mills searches deep into the roots of American traditional music to find the timeless traditional dance tunes and songs; the treasure of honest folk music. He sings and plays guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, bouzouki, fiddle, and bodhran, and is also a popular accompanist for Irish and old-time music.

Mills has toured nationally with his bands Future Geezers and Tripping Up Stairs, and also does concerts in support of his latest CD Whatever Happened?, which has received airplay on folk radio stations throughout the US and internationally.

Mills was selected for a solo Formal Showcase at the 1998 Northeast Folk Alliance, and appeared with All-Ireland accordion champion John Whelan at the Eagle Tavern in New York and a benefit featuring Mikhail Barishnikov. He opened for Pete Seeger at the Raritan River Festival, and has played for the New Jersey Folk Project, Folklore Society of Greater Washington, The Campbell Folk School(NC), Buffalo Gap Camp for the Cultural Arts(WV), and the New England Folk Festival.

When not in front of the mics himself, Bob is a recording and live sound engineer. He has published All Mixed Up, a guide to sound for folk and contra dance events, and he runs a recording studio which has produced many highly-regarded CDs.

After many years in Princeton, NJ, Mills is now based in southeastern Vermont.
