Sunday, May 25th, 2008 - Outdoor Concert, New City Library
The Big Band Sound will be appearing at the New City Library in concert for a celebration of America's original art form: jazz! We'll be performing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the concert will move inside the Library if it should rain. Admission is Free. Call (845) 634-4997 ext. 139 for more information.
Directions: From the Bear Mountain Bridge, take the Palisades Parkway south to Exit 11. Turn left onto New Hempstead Rd. Go 2 miles to the end of the road and turn left onto North Main St. Go 0.7 miles, turn right onto Squadron Blvd. and then immediately turn left into the Library's parking lot. Friday, May 30th, 2008 - Concert, Dover Plains
The Dover High School Music Boosters will be hosting The Big Band Sound in a fund-raising concert this evening in the courtyard of Dover High School, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. We will be performing many of your favorite jazz standards from all the famous big bands. As a fitting conclusion to the evening, members of the school's jazz ensemble will be joining us in a grand finale! Admission is $5, refreshments will be available and proceeds of the evening will benefit the music education offerings at the school.
Directions: Dover High School is on the east side of Route 22, 3 miles north of Wingdale (County Route 21/Pleasant Ridge Road) and 10 miles north of Pawling (Route 55). Click here to get custom directions.

Saturday, June 7th, 2008 - WGNY 75th Anniversary, Newburgh
To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of radio station WGNY 1220AM, there will be a night of dining and dancing in the City of Newburgh. Details are still to be set, but after dining at a choice of fine restaurants throughout the city, partygoers will convene at 8 p.m. at Newburgh's Historic Green Room for dessert and three hours of dancing to The Big Band Sound! The renovated Green Room with its green terrazzo floor was part of the Hotel Newburgh and it is now a part of the Cornerstone Residence at 111 Broadway. Stay tuned for more information!
Directions: From Interstate 84 and the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, take the Route 9W exit and travel south for 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Route 17K/Broadway and the Green Room in the Cornerstone Residence will be on the right after 0.5 miles. Click here to get custom directions.

Saturday, June 21st, 2008 - Clearwater Festival, Croton
The Big Band Sound is honored to be the first big band ever invited to perform at the world famous Clearwater Festival! We'll be performing at 12:30pm on the Dance Stage (under a tent with a dance floor) and other performers such as Pete Seeger will be filling 4 other stages around the park all day with many different genres of music. Croton Point Park is off of Route 9 adjacent to the Croton-Harmon train station on the banks of the Hudson. Day admission is $35 and includes all entertainment 10am to dusk. Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 - Mohonk Mountain House Concert
June 22th through 27th is Music Week at Mohonk Mountain House with three concerts each day and The Big Band Sound will be the featured act starting the week off on June 24th at 9 p.m. This grand 265-room Victorian castle in the Shawangunk Mountains is one of America's premier resorts. Saturday, July 5th, 2008 - Outdoor Concert, Millbrook
As part of the summer concert series sponsored by the Millbrook Arts Group, The Big Band Sound will be performing this evening starting at 7 p.m. at the Millbrook Community Bandshell. Make this concert part of your Independence Day weekend and bring your picnicking paraphernalia to spread out on the beautiful lawn. Our special guest this evening will be vocalist Steve Fabrizio. We'll be celebrating America's original art form as expressed in it's most dynamic setting: Big Band Jazz!

Friday, July 18th, 2008 - Outdoor Concert, Poughkeepsie
As part of the 2008 Mid-Hudson Balloon Festival, put on by our Dutchess County Regional Chamber Of Commerce, The Big Band Sound will be featured in concert at Waryas Park in the City of Poughkeepsie this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and hot air balloons will launch beforehand at 6 p.m.! Bring your lawn chairs down to the Hudson Riverfront to enjoy the hot air balloons, the river and our concert. Admission is Free.
Directions: Take Route 9 to Route 44/55 east and follow the signs to the Poughkeepsie Railroad Station, then continue down to the river. Waryas Park is on the waterfront at the foot of Main St. Click here to get custom directions.

Saturday, July 19th, 2008 - Outdoor Concert and BBQ, Goshen
Wake up your ears and wake up your taste buds! In addition to The Big Band Sound bringing you a concert of the best of the big bands, the Goshen Public Library, Goshen Rotary Club and Goshen Lions Club will be putting on a Barbeque! It all happens this evening at Craigville Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission to the concert is Free (remember to bring your lawn chairs), but the Barbeque is not to be missed and pricing details for it are still to be set. Directions: I-84 across the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to Exit 7S. Take Route 300/Union Ave. south to the light at the end of the road. Turn right onto Route 207/Little Britain Rd. and follow it for 15.2 miles. Turn left onto County Route 66/Craigville Rd. and Craigville Park will be on the right after 0.8 miles. Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 - Outdoor Concert, Vanderbilt Mansion
The Town of Hyde Park's annual Music In The Parks concert series will include a concert by The Big Band Sound this evening at 7 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site. The spacious grounds of this grand mansion are the perfect setting for picnicing and listening to the beautiful jazz standards of The Big Band Sound. Admission is free, so pack your lawn chairs and join us for this special evening. If it rains, this concert will be held indoors at Roosevelt High School. Call (845) 229-8086 for more information.
Directions: Vanderbilt Mansion is on the west side of Route 9 just north of the Village of Hyde Park. Click here for more directions. In case of rain, from Vanderbilt Mansion go north on Route 9 for 2.5 miles, turn right onto South Cross Road, go 1.7 miles and Roosevelt High School is on the right.

Friday, August 8th, 2008 - Outdoor Concert, Wappingers Falls (New!)
For the 23rd year in a row, The Big Band Sound will be performing at Mesier Park in the Village of Wappingers Falls. Our concert starts at 7 p.m., admission is Free, and bring a lawn chair. You can't beat the hometown atmosphere of Mesier Park and the Village gazebo! If it rains, the concert will be held the next day, Saturday, August 9th, at the same time, 7 p.m.
Directions: The park is smack dab in the middle of the Village of Wappingers Falls at the light where Route 9D and Main St. intersect. Click here to get custom directions.

Saturday, September 6th, 2008 - Outdoor Concert, Boscobel
Pack a picnic and a blanket and join us at Boscobel where The Big Band Sound will be giving a concert from 6 to 8 p.m. outside this historic mansion overlooking the Hudson River. There will be a dance floor and a tent will be provided if it rains. Admission is $12 ($8 for kids). Call (845) 265-3638 ext. 115 for reservations.

Saturday, December 6th, 2008 - Concert and Dance, Pawling
The Town Of Pawling will be hosting The Big Band Sound for a Holiday concert and dance in Lathrop Hall at Lakeside Park from 7 to 9 p.m. This event is open to the public and admission is Free, so arrive early to stake out a spot! The room will be set up cafe style, so there will be room for dancing or you can listen from your seat. Refreshments will be available as well. Directions: From the Taconic Parkway, take Route 55 east for 10 miles and turn left onto Old Route 55. After 2.7 miles, turn left onto Lakeside Drive and Lakeside Park is on the left after 1 mile, at the intersection of Route 20. From the center of Pawling, take Charles Coleman Blvd west for 0.9 miles to Lakeside Park. Lakeside Park is the new name of what was the Holiday Hills YMCA camp. Thursday, August 16th, 2007 - Outdoor Concert, Newburgh:
The City of Newburgh and Newburgh's Ferry Godmother are sponsoring the Newburgh Jazz Series 2007 and The Big Band Sound will be performing this evening at the Newburgh waterfront. Our concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the park adjacent to Newburgh Landing and Torches Restaurant. Audience members are encouraged to use Metro-North and the Beacon-Newburgh Ferry, which docks at the concert site. Admission is Free and bring your lawn chairs and blankets. If it rains, the concert will be held inside the nearby Ritz Theater (107 Broadway) or Newburgh Free Library (2nd St. and Grand St.)
Directions: I-84 to Exit 10S and take Route 9W South. Turn left at the light (at the Sunoco station) onto Plank Rd. Go straight through two traffic lights, then turn left onto 4th Street. 4th Street ends at Front Street and the concert location is just to the right.
