There are 13 official disc golf courses in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul ( that I know of !! ) with a thriving population of avid disc golfers.
| Name | Bassett Creek | City | Crystal, MN |
| # Holes | 12 Homemade Baskets | Rating | ![]() ![]() |
| Description | This is my one of my favorite courses mostly because it is one of the first courses I played and it is frequently not very busy. It is a good place to practice lots of different shots and the surrounding park area is very nice. The tee boxes are marked, but the course can be difficult to follow for new players because some of the holes were once moved and the signage was not replaced. | ||
How Do I Get To Bassett Creek Park??
9 holes / Chains ( 3.4 miles from my apt. )
My second favorite course in the Twin Cities, this one is also very close to my apartment (once again - another blessing) The course is relatively flat, which means your can always see the basket from the tee. This is a good course for beginners, or for an intermediate that wants to get through a round of 9 in about 20 minutes.
How Do I Get To Northwoods Park??
9 holes / Chains ( lots of REALLY steep hills )
This course is more advanced than either Northwoods or Bassett. It is nestled in and around a small valley with two hills. The course wanders up and down the hills and offers some extremely challenging throws. Oftentimes you are throwing toward a basket that you only hope is out there. If you have never been there before, make sure to bring a guide along with you because its pretty much impossible to try to figure out by yourself for the first time.
How Do I Get To Lone Lake Park??
18 holes / Chains
This is the premiere course in the Twin Cities. It has a distinct flavor between the front and back nine. You can do the front nine quite easily but the back nine should only be attempted by the most die hard disc golfer.
How Do I Get To Kaposia??
12 holes / Chains
This is a nice course that is easy to get to.
9 holes / Chains
There is great potential for this course (pleasant surroundings, quality equipment, challenging terrain) but the back 5 holes are non-existent!! If you live close to the area, go ahead and play the front 4 holes.
12 holes / Cones
18 holes / Chains
9 holes / Cones
9 holes / Chains
18 holes / Chains
12 holes / Chains
7 holes / Chains ( 2 got torn down recently!! )
This course is extremely lame. I think that it was built because it was written somewhere that you can't be a first class Park until you have a frisbee gold course. There really wasn't enough room to put one in!! But they managed to weave the holes around the softball and soccer fields in an extrmely evil way. Unless you are really bored with playing on quality courses, don't go here!!!
