Aldermaston News Report
4th April 2000 Notes from a small club in Berkshire While some were in Reading watching the "Tetley's Bitter" cup semi finals the players were on the pitch taking the wings off the Fareham Heathens to the tune of 19-5. It's a long time since we played them and I held only bad memories of a complete stitch up. Our fourths against their seconds 50-0 against and not a very good atmosphere on the pitch. So it was good to hear that the boys who came up to us were a good bunch of lads and all went well. What goes up comes down again I suppose. On the Field of Play Tries for Tim Peason, Stuart Campbell and Gary Stacey. TP converted two out of three and we knotch up another win. Index Training Nights We are rehearsing our Christmas carol " Silent Nights" Index Words from Across the Waters Two brothers claim to have flown into the air on a heavier than air machine. What will those Yankees think of next? They'll be standing on the moon before we know it. Index Bar Side Tattle I don't know what happened in the bar this week! I came back from Reading full of toxin's and succumbed to their influences rather too early. I do however remember celebrating "Sam's" 18th birthday in the ususal crass club macho manner by making her drink the customary "silly" drink. Sam was worried about pouring the contents over her head so we put a plastic bag over her hair and carried on. Then I flumped into a sofa and called for a lift home. At the door I met Keith Beeby who was even (very much) worse than I was so I rashly got my daughter to take him home. Aren't drunks difficult to get out of your car until they've kissed eveyone in sight and promised undying thanks. Sandra Huckle is have a birthday on the 30th of April. Bless her and keep her from harm. Look out for Paul and Rose in the London Marathon! They'll be trying to pass themselves off as the back end of a Camel and a Belly Dancer. You can conjure up your' own picture of who is which. For my own thoughts I would say that Paul gets more points for the ASS of a camel than Rose but then he certainly has more belly too. Index Forthcoming Events It's still Weymouth away on the 15th and it will be an all weekend jobbie. Fancy dress theme as well Pirates being the dress code. Kangaroo court in Richie Owen style. Willie Boyd has told us all about his experience with the Dublin Tatoo and body abuse parlour. Index Dot Harwell's Car I saw Brian Harwell very briefly on Saturday night but he is holding any DHC news tattle under very tight reigns. Index Mini Rugby Not very well attended this week. Seems as though we are coming to the end of season drop off. Where are the schools? They can't all be fooballers can they? Index Ladies Rugby I believe there is one more match arranged this season so watch this space and we'll tell you all about it when it happens. Index Regalia Dai's been a bit tied up this week. Index
