Since some years now I have been searching for the occurrence of the surname KUHRING all over the world
(spelling variations: KURING, KUHRICK, CHURING)

KUH-RING?

KUH-RING

I found the above picture on the Magyar Mezogazdasagi Muzeum's homepage:

It shows a fenced resting place for cows (German: Kuh = cow), with concrete posts and fencing wire. Strong and transportable. Manufactured by F. Zimmermann & Co., Halle, Germany
The picture was published in 1886 in the "Oesterreichisches Landwirtschaftliches Wochenblatt (= Austrian Agricultural Weekly)"

What is the meaning of the name KUHRING?
Cow

The name KUHRING has nothing to do with cows and their rings ;-)
It derives from the Wendish name "Kurenk" which means "grandchild of the chicken".

Where do the KUHRING's come from?

The KUHRING Family Tree seems to have its "roots" in Luebben (Spree Forest) in Germany.

Nowadays KUHRING's can be found all over Germany (from Hamburg in the North to Munich in the South) and even in Canada and the United States of America but it still is a rather uncommon name.
In the United States, Australia and New Zealand the variation KURING also can be found.
