In case you're wondering..... I've had a fascination with the concept of vampires ever since middle school. It was at that time that I first read a book by Jan Jennings called "Vampyr" -- and since that time, I have also read the Lestat series by Anne Rice.

What intrigues me most about these mythical beings is their tragic but tangible inner strength. Some writers better express it than others -- but overall, the concept of a being who must endure the ages, himself unchanged while the earth around him evolves in so many ways, carries a certain flair. If you have never read any books that delve into the minds of such creatures, you should consider it.

Beyond tragedy, most writers have come to describe a vampire also as being an incredibly passionate sort of character. Such incredible extremes.... a human tossed headlong into a battle with herself through the desires and lust of her inner self..... reminds me very much of Freud's description of the battle between the id and the ego. While the body craves blood and fulfillment of lust, the mind must perpetually wage war with the omnipresent need to maintain a masquerade of sanity and presentability.

Presented within these pages are links to other vampire fans' pages. In wandering the WWW, I've found my own like for the creatures is not as rare as I once thought. I do not imagine vampires to be the devil creatures so many others seem bent on them being -- but rather, I see them as pawns in a grander scheme. While a Christian myself, I find quite interesting the struggles played out by vampires... for, despite their immortality, they often (and sadly) seem far more keenly human than many people sometimes act.

I hope you enjoy these links. Be aware that many do not profess the same beliefs as I have personally, nor may some links necessarily match your views! You may view some links as offensive. I recommend anyone younger than 13 turning back.

While not a typical vampire site, this site struck a chord for me.

I'm a Closet-Vampire

Egad! I have to admit...
I'm a Closet Vampire!

CAVEAT: I am not and will never be a vampire. I see vampires as purely fictional characters -- something fun to fantasize about romantically -- something quaint to toy with in play. I enjoy letting my imagination get caught up in vampire stories but neither subscribe to nor support any type of religion that claims vampirism.

I am Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that the Holy Ghost is His living countenance on this Earth. I mean, in no way, to imply by this portion of my website that I support Satanism. I DO NOT and NEVER WILL.

As further justification for this aside, please see this excerpt from a recent e-mail I received:
" I have been interested in the Vampire religion for a while, but, being a minor, have had no power to actually indulge in that interest. I do have a question, though. How can you tell if you are of the Blood or if you are not of the Blood? I think that I may be of the Blood, but I cannot tell for sure unless I know what it takes."
Please do not send me questions about how to know if you are a vampire since I do not believe that such beings exist in their historical definition. Do not ask how to know whether or not you 'have the blood' or anything remotely similar.

I am more than happy to answer whatever questions I can about Christianity. If you prefer not to have such open professions, I can simply refer you to several good websites that will allow you to browse to your hearts' content. Some such sites are bold and dogmatic. Others are far less assuming.
