The Flagship of the British Airways fleet powers into the sky from Heathrow to begin a routine supersonic crossing of the Atlantic. The familiar landscape around one of the World's busiest airports and seen by thousands of aviators and passengers alike falls away below.

This painting is a poignant reminder that the Concorde service has departed Heathrow forever, bringing to an end an era of supersonic passenger travel. In this unique portrayal, award winning aviation artist Chris French GAvA has achieved the most difficult of tasks - to capture the awesome power of the machine coupled with the absolute elegance and beauty of one of the most incredible aircraft ever designed. Added to this is a meticulous reproduction of the landscape to the west of London, fitting backdrop for "Concorde - A Farewell to Heathrow".

A few words from AvCollect

This has to be the finest Concorde Print ever released!

Its c
ertainly the finest we have seen! So we are personally endorsing
this incredible portrayal of our much missed Queen of the Skies

Personally, speaking as a pilot, just looking at the painting, I can
sense the lift of the airflow over the wings hauling this iconic
masterpiece into the skies! Truly man and machine in perfect
harmony, a testomy to the engineering and foresight of a once
awesome British Aviation Industry

You can actually feel the speed and power as this awesome aircraft and now sadly gone forever, leaves her long time base of London Heathrow Airport and heads towards the Atlantic to track West towards John F Kennedy Airport in New York. A route taken daily for so many years and traveled by many thousands of privileged passengers!

What a tribute this painting is to one of the most incredible aircraft ever designed! We know of no other print or painting that so accurately portrays Concorde, her speed, grace and beauty and also, the landscape surrounding London Heathrow! This truly is, 'A Farewell to Heathrow'
