WILDLIFE EVENTS IN THE PORTSMOUTH AREA

Fence removal, Eastney Lake	Friends of Langstone Harbour
Saturday 3rd May and 7th June. 9.30 to noon. Help us to complete the removal of an old fence as part of the preparations for a long-awaited new path around this part of the harbour. Meet in the car park at the end of Locksway Road. Bring wire cutters and hacksaws if you have them.

Chalk Grassland Management	Portsdown Hill Countryside Service
Sunday 18th May, 1000 - 1530. The task continues to enhance the hill for wildlife and visitors. Sunday tasks are once a month on the third Sunday. Meet at the East Gate of Fort Widley. For more details contact Richard Jones on 023 9238 9623.

Adopt a Beach : Budds Farm, Havant	Friends of Langstone Harbour
Saturday 20th September. 9.30am - noon. This litter pick and survey is part of the Marine Conservation Society's annual beach-watch event. Meet at the end of Southmoor Lane.

Walk round the Harbour	Friends of Langstone Harbour
Saturday 27th September. Join in all or part of this 13 mile clockwise walk. Details to be announced.

Hampshire Conservation Volunteers work at weekends on a large variety of sites and tasks in Hampshire.
Portsdown Hill Conservation Volunteers have an extensive web site, originated by Hilma Miles, who sadly died in 2007. Groups work every Wednesday and monthly on the third Sunday, except in August.

The Friends of Cumberland House support the Natural History Museum in Southsea.
Portsmouth Friends of the Earth have various local campaigns such as composting and cycling.
