Important - Aktivität is an
unofficial fanzine and therefore
has no connection with Kraftwerk and their current members.
About Aktivität
Aktivität was an unofficial Kraftwerk fanzine. Issues 1 to 10
were produced from January 1992 until April 1998. See the Aktivitaet History pages for further details including cover scans from the paper-based fanzines. These online pages
will feature some of the articles and images from those issues, as well
as additional material that was not included in the fanzines. The online
articles have also been updated to accomodate additional information
and to correct inaccuarcies and mistakes present in the original formats.
For the earlier issues, the fanzine was very much aimed at the 'record
collecting' audience, with articles going into detail about record releases
from all over the world as well as the UK. With more and more contributions
from fellow fans of Kraftwerk, the scope of the fanzine broadened and
more general articles were increasingly included in later issues, such
as live reviews, video reviews, appraisals of past LPs etc. Some of
these articles will be included on these pages.
As Kraftwerk are not like other bands and do not have a fan club/information
service, it has always been difficult to know what the bands activities
are due to the lack of media coverage. And let's not even mention how useless their official website it is when it comes to news. In response to this and the continued
requests for information about the bands activities from fans, Aktivität
continued. However, with the impact of the Internet, news on Kraftwerk
and their activities is now much better catered for and the need for
a paper-based fanzine was, I felt, far less essential than in the earlier
years of the fanzine's existence, hence one of the reasons to curtail
production.
It is important to note however that Aktivität was not an
official Kraftwerk product and should not be mistaken as such; instead,
see it is a fanzine written by fans for fans. Therefore, there was no
direct contact with Kraftwerk at all. Similarly, these pages have no
connection with Kraftwerk and any of their current members. Nevertheless,
the information strives to be as accurate as possible given these circumstances.
This is intended to be a modestly sized but informative series of
WWW pages and to be updated from time
to time. However, they will not be quite the same as the fanzine, with
the emphasis on archiving past articles as opposed to writing new ones.
(Not that that idea is completely off the agenda though.) During the period August 1st 2001 until July 31st 2002 the website was not updated at all. This was mostly due to a series of personal problems. I hope that the webpages will now continue to be sporadically updated, but cannot guarantee that there will not be similar lapses in the future - it is, after all, a hobby, not a social service.
Aktivität - it's in the air, for you and me...

Contacting Aktivität
Please note the following before sending any e-mail:
- I don't guarantee a reply to any e-mails that are sent. The Aktivität website is free and it's a hobby, not a social service that guarantees a reply.
- Paper copies of the fanzines are no longer available to buy.
- Please do not include attachments of any kind with your e-mail, otherwise it won't even be read, let alone answered - I don't download e-mails with unexpected attachments due far too many occasions in the past where viruses have been sent. Sorry.
- Please include a meaningful subject line to your e-mail, otherwise it probably won't be read. Again, due to viruses in the past, as well as rude and/or abusive e-mails. If one can't take the time to compose a proper message, why would I take time to compose a proper reply?
- Please do not ask if I can swap or recommend where to find bootleg CDs - can't do nothing for ya, man.
- Do read the articles on this website before asking a specific question. Try the search feature - it's good.
