The Falcons head for the DZ with our special guest

Sopwith and friends at the former RAF Montrose
Sopwith was the mascot of Second Lieutenant Arthur Turnbull RFC, who
was killed in 1917. It was to be 75 years before Sopwith became airborne
again, thanks to 111 Squadron, RAF Leuchars. In 1992, with Flt Lt. Brian
Kemp as pilot and Flt. Lt. Pete Browne as navigator Sopwith took his first
flight after all these years, the same number of years as 111 Squadron
was old. From this flight over £10,000 was raised for the Edinburgh
Hospital for Sick Children. Well done, Sopwith!
