#126-WHY BUTTER IS BETTER AND OTHER SURPRISING FACTS ABOUT TRADITIONAL DIETS, AND MENTAL AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING. Journalist, nutrition researcher, and chef, Sally Fallon elaborates on her research found in her book Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook That Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats. Drawing on the work of Weston Price's book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, Mrs. Fallon provides scientific research to support her claims that the public is being misled about what foods are beneficial, how safe our food supply is, and what we can do about it. #64-MENTAL ILLNESS IN RELATION TO THYROID AND OTHER ENDOCRINE DYSFUNCTIONS. Jacques Hertoghe, M.D., discusses the importance of the thyroid gland, its effect on every cell in the body, its relationship to other hormonal organs, and the causes and effects of hypothyroidism. Allan Lieberman, M.D., drawing on diverse clinical experience to explain how substances from the environment can disrupt physiological functions and mental processes. He also explains his treatment approaches for mental illness, which stress identifying and correcting nutritional deficiencies or imbalances, and dealing with reactions to provocative substances.

#43-ALLERGIES AND SIMILAR AILMENTS IN MENTAL AND SYSTEMIC ILLNESS. Thomas L. Stone, M.D., stresses the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of treating the person as a "holistic" unit when seeking the causes of physical or mental illness. WIlliam Crook, M.D., discusses particular case histories of individual sensitivities to foods and chemicals, drawn from his many years of clinical experience.
