That question is not an easy one, but I'll try my very best to answer it.
First some short info. Name: Volkmar Kuhnle. Profession: I hold a diploma in physics, but currently I work as a project consultant for MapInfo. Age: I was born August 21st, 1964, therefore I am a Leo. And now let's stop the boring part and go on to something more interesting..
I just told a bit of my job, so let's continue with my hobbies now. The first one to mention is music. Before I moved to Ludwigshafen, I sang in the choir vocalis and I am currently founding my own band "Reincarnation" (but I am thinking of naming it "Centauri Republic"). . And I also listen to much music. My favorite bands are Qntal, Lakaien, Sisters, Nine Inch Nails, Dead Can dance, Umbra et Imago, Type O'Negative, Pink Floyd, Beethoven, W.A. Mozart and Frank Sinatra. More about this on my "hot music page". I am also heavily involved in the Umbra et Imago Fan Base, mostly as editor-in-chief of the SPIRIT magazine. And I am the author of a "Gothic Encyclopedia" which appeared May 1999 at the Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf Verlag (in German). And I participated in the brand-new Gothic and Dark Wave-Encyclopedia. A list of my collected works (in German) can be found here.

And what are my further interests, beyond music? Let's start in
alphabetical order, with B (like Babylon 5). This is my favorite TV series
now. I love the "dark way" it is done (there are even heavy conflicts between
the main protagonists, something which Star Trek avoided for years). And
I love Londo Mollari and the Centauri (that's why I planned to name my
band "Centauri Republic").
.

What I also like (for a long, long time now) is Star Trek in all versions, especially "The Next Generation" and "Deep Space Nine". Not to mention "The X-Files"..
Something that is also important for me: I love "Mother Nature".
And now you can see another "spleen" of mine: I am an avid vampire fan. I love vampire books, vampire movies and the RPG "Vampire: the masquerade". But I do not believe in the real existence of vampires, although I cannot completely deny it. But I hate all posers who claim to be "600 years old". And what I hate most are kiddies mailing me: "Are you a vampire? If yes, please bite me!". I am not a vampire, and even if I were one, I would definitely NOT bite you!
You could already see it in the music section: I consider myself being "gothic". All my life, i have considered dark things to be beautiful and romantic. But being "gothic" does not mean for me that I sit around depressed all day long or that I lock myself into the toilet every time I have to laugh. Oh no! I still have a fine and good sense of humour. Without humour, I could not bear this world..
And now we have arrived at the theme "philosophy". Without bothering you with the details, I just want to tell that my philosophy is based on the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics (as depicted by Werner Heisenberg and Nils Bohr). Especially the insight that reality is always a question of one's point of view. I also believe that life is a process of constant change.
That's all for now, since I do not want to "out" myself completey :-)=
. If you have any questions, just
feel free to ask.
P.S.: Who ever finds a typo on this page, may keep it..
P.P.S: Here is a picture of mine, taken 1996 on the Zillo festival. Thanx to Robyn for scanning it!.
