Careers

The following careers are mainly taken from the PLUS (Player's Labor-Saving Utility System) conversion of the Space 1889 game system. The list of careers is virtually identical to those listed in the game book, with a few nice additions. American careers have been added from a file called "Ye Can Always Tell a Yankee, But Ye Canna Tell 'im Much..."
More skills and careers are in the following two files: Skills1.htm and Career1.htm, from the web site Space:1889 and Sky Galleons of Mars. Most of the new skills are optional but available if a career requires them. The change to the Foraging skill under the Endurance group is not used in my game. Note that Skills1.htm has a Gambler career under the Criminal Careers group, and it is built with the Gambling crime cascade skill (which is not in the original rules). The file you are currently reading has a Gambler Exotic Career; it comes from the Yankee file and has somewhat different skills. If you wish to make a Gambler character, please be clear about which one you want. Please make only Human characters.
