Glenkinchie is one of the few distilleries that werenīt closed during WWII. The maltings were closed in 1968 and it now houses a small museum.
Colour is golden, the nose fresh, like foliage and little smoke. The palate is grassy-foliage. The finish is warming and little spicy.
This is, like most Malts from the Lowlands a gentle and smooth whisky. Very good for the beginner.
Kinclaith has been the last of Glasgows distilleries and was closed in 1975.
This charming Malt has a full amber colour. The nose is smoky with some sherry. Jackson sais itīs sulphury. I canīt find that. :-) But the palate, and I agree with Jackson, is very light, fruity and reminds of melon. The finish is melon-like (some mango too?) with sherry. This clearly is an aperitiv. My wife likes this one (Women seem to like it. Itīs light, fruity and "gentle")
The distillery was closed in 1983 and rebuild. It now houses yuppies.

This is a centenary bottling from G+M. Didnīt open it yet.
