WHO IS SAI BABA?
Sai Baba is a special guru called an Avatar and lives at Prashanti Nilayam, India. The meaning of the word Avatar comes from the Sanskrit for the incarnation of Godhead. Sai Baba devotees believe that Sai Baba is a direct incarnation of God. He is God in physical form and some call him the man of miracles as he regularly materialises objects out of thin air. These miracles he says are unimportant. He calls them his 'visiting cards' - and claims that they prove that he is a special being with a divine mission.
Naturally Sai Baba's claims about being an avatar and the many miracles he has performed open him to criticism- some of it very serious indeed.
