Parents Affirming Christian Education
Because the Sovereign Triune God calls men everywhere to think His thoughts after Him, to exercise dominion over all things according to His will, and to consecrate themselves and all things unto Him, we are bound to obey this divine command. Therefore, since we have been commanded to do all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10: 31), including the education of our children, we have established Parents Affirming Christian Education (PACE).
The purpose of this organization is to promote Christian education by teaching, writing, and publishing materials that demonstrate the Biblical necessity of Christian education. PACE will support Christian parents in the task of Biblically educating their covenant children by providing resources, activities, and learning opportunities.
The supreme standard of truth for PACE shall be the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We believe that the Scriptures alone are the sole authority for faith and life. Secondarily, while PACE has the Heidelberg Catechism as its official creeds, it also adheres to the other creeds of the Reformed Church in the United States.
PACE affirms these presuppositions:
In accordance with the position set forth in the Purpose and Supreme Standard of Truth Statements, PACE declares that God alone fully understands the nature and purpose of his creation, so we can have true knowledge about ourselves and our world only when we pattern our understanding of this world after God's understanding as it is revealed in the Scriptures.
We repudiate and expose as anti-Christian any scientific methodology or philosophic position which would cause men to question or deny the self-sufficient and self-existent Triune God, His written revelation of Himself, or any aspect of the world as He has interpreted it for us in that revelation. Each study presented and each activity promoted by PACE shall rest upon and present its case in accordance with the presuppositions of the historic Christian faith, and shall subject its whole procedure as well as its conclusions to the scrutiny and direction of the full and complete revelation of God in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.
