In college, I developed an interest in gothic literature that kind of extended into an interest in modern gothic drama and comedy. There have been a few tv shows over the years that have left little dents in my pop-culture memory bank.
I really like this local TV show called Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Since I got tired of Anne Rice and Forever Knight went off the air, I haven't been able to get my funny-vampire fix. "Buffy etc." is as tongue-in-cheek as the title implies.
Speaking of Forever Knight, I miss seeing old Nicolas Knight on CBS' Crime Time after Prime Time. He was one ambiguous vampire.
While I'm spouting off about TV shows, I might as well admit that I'm addicted to this late-night sci-fi show called Earth, the Final Conflict. It's a Gene Roddenberry show, with all of the political nuances that made Star Trek great. BTW, the music on this show is truly exceptional.
Then's there's the old and very clever "Alien Nation" (say it fast. Ok, get it?), the scifi show that will teach you more about racisim than a sensitivity training seminar.
