Questions about Jewish resources come up fairly often in my neighborhood. I live in and am a member of the Orthodox Jewish community of the Midwood/Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. I’m tired of getting answering machine messages that start with "So, do you know any good shiurim (lectures) in the neighborhood?" or "I'm going to a totally obscure area of the Slavic Republic. Where can I get to a Kosher restaurant?" This page is for all of you shiur-hopping, restaurant-going, dating, single, married, happy, sad people who need a favor or want to know. Now you know. Thank goodness you got yourself a computer.

Have a Q YomTov
The Q Holiday Page:
This year, Q has featured a "links" page for each Jewish Holiday, starting with Chanukah. Some of these links are a little off the beaten WWW track. Heh heh.

The Aleph Institute:
The Aleph Institute is a not-for-profit, national, Jewish educational, humanitarian and advocacy organization working with and on behalf of Jewish inmates and their families. It's easy to forget about people in jail, especially if they are justly imprisoned, but helping them is a community responsibility.

Ohel
Ohel:
A social services organization working under Jewish auspices. Check out the variety of programs that they have to offer, and then do a good deed and refer someone who needs them.

The Mining Company:
This interesting site is putting a new Internet concept to work. They have divided the Web into specific areas of interest and set up "guides" to select and highlight some timely and key links in each area. Kuty Shalev is the guide for the Judaism site. It's a dynamic way of skimming the Jewish side of the Internet.

Kayama
Kayama:
This unique organization has one goal: to preserve Jewish unity. They educate Jewish people with civil divorces about the importance of obtaining a "get". What's a "get"? You've come to the right place, my friend. Read their FAQ to clear up some of the confusion surrounding Jewish divorce.

Food for Thought:
This New York based company will deliver truly attractive and incidentally kosher gift baskets anywhere in the United States. All levels of kashrus are available, from plain old kosher to cholov and pas Yisrael. These are not ordinary gift baskets. Use them for your classiest mishloach monos (Purim gifts) and corporate gifts.

Listen Up!
Rebecca and Steve Singer have their own Jewish-style a cappella group named LISTEN UP! A CAPPELLA. For a sample of their interesting style, download this 200KB .wav file of their version of Arise My Love (from the Song of Songs).

Brooklyn On Line
Brooklyn On Line:
If you've left the nay-buh-hood, this is your chance to stroll down memory lane. If you're still here (as I am), explore a little. You might know less about Brooklyn than you think. I got a little teary-eyed when I checked out the Midwood section. This is a great online guide to Jewish (and other aspects of) New York City.
