uaint and pretty, antique Head Vases have been a hobby of mine for several years now. Of course, some people consider this unusual. Weird. These are usually people who don't have hobbies themselves or have never collected anything. That's okay. |
| I collect Head Vases from the 1940's, 50's, and 60's. Head Vases were originally used for floral arrangements. Since most were too small to hold anything, they became back-room dust collectors instead. Most of these were sold to florists by Japanese pottery importers. |
| My father gave me my first head vase when I was a little girl. I bought a second one in a junk store in Philadelphia when I was in college. After college, I started seriously collecting them. Now they are sold in fancy-shmancy antique stores. They have shot up in value quite a bit over the last couple of years, which is a lot more than I can say for some of the stocks that I've bought. |

I own approximately 40 Head Vases. Guess what? I just bought a Color Quick Cam. This is a lethal combination. |
Of course, I still don't know how to really use the Quick Cam, so I only took pictures of five vases. Over the next few days/weeks, I hope to a) figure out how to make better quality pictures since these are awful, and b) catalog the rest of my collection. |
