(54) [Title of the Invention] Protective Temporary Surface Covering for Products

(57) Summary

[Goal] The goal of this invention is to economically provide a protective film for temporarily covering products. Such products include a paint layer (upon an automobile that has undergone final painting), plate metal, etc.

[Content of the Invention] A masking film is formed as a plastic film that has a twice-peelable-type pressure-sensitive adhesive layer at either lateral edge of one surface of the film.

[Scope of the Patent Claims]

[Claim 1] A protective film for temporary covering the surface of a product, said film being characterized in that a twice-peelable-type pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is provided at both lateral edges of one side of said film.

[Claim 2] A protective film per Claim 1, wherein said product surface is a paint layer.

[Claim 3] A protective film per Claim 2, wherein said paint layer is the final paint layer of an automobile.

[Claim 4] A protective film per any of Claims 1 through , wherein said plastic film is a polyolefin film.

[Claim 5] A protective film per Claim 4, wherein said polyolefin is polyethylene or polypropylene or a polyethylene-polypropylene mixture.

[Claim 6] A protective film per Claim 3, wherein said plastic film comprises a monolayer plastic film that contains a titanium oxide.

[Claim 7] A protective film per Claim 3, wherein said plastic film comprises a two-layer plastic film, wherein one plastic film layer contains a titanium oxide, and a second plastic film layer contains carbon black.

[Claim 8] A protective film per Claim 3, wherein said plastic film comprises three plastic film layers; wherein one plastic film layer is a clear plastic film; a second plastic film layer contains a titanium oxide; and a third plastic film layer contains carbon black...
