 SIS Files
SIS files are in the Psion SIS format, which is a self-installing application deployment and is the
preferred way of installing software on to your
Psion. If you have an unzipping utility (like
WinZip
) then download the Zipped version. This means that the SIS file is compressed and must be
uncompressed before the installation can be done on your target machine.
There are two utilities that can be used to unzip the download files. If you are using a PC then
WinZip
is the best. If you wish to use your Psion
then
RMRZip
is a great uility, available from
RMRSoft
.
If you do not have an unzipping utility and do not wish to have one installed on your computer then
download the raw SIS version directly on to
your computer.
Once you have the SIS file (you will know it's a SIS file as the extension of the file is '.sis') copy
this to your Psion and double tap on it. If this
does not work then you have an older version of the EPOC operating system and you need to install a
utility called
instexe.exe
(can be
downloaded here by clicking on the link). Copy this file on to your PC, double click on it and the utility
will install itself. From this point onwards
you will be able to install Psion SIS file applications directly from your PC.
