Eric tells Donna to send Katie his best wishes.
At the Forrester mansion, Eric consoles a tearful Donna over the ordeal of her sister's surgery and her brother's death. Donna thanks him for being there for her and tells him how glad she is that they're getting married tomorrow right there, in the house that will soon be their home. Rick drops by, so Donna leaves for the hospital to see Katie. Eric and Rick both ask her to give Katie their best. After Donna leaves, Rick asks how Katie is, since he can only imagine how hard this has been. Eric agrees that this is going to hit the Logan family hard and asks Rick when he last spoke to his mother. Rick answers that he talked to Brooke a few hours ago and agrees that she's been through hell. Eric states that it's been the same for Donna. Rick asks his dad if the wedding is still on for tomorrow. Eric says he left that up to Donna, who said that Katie wanted them to go ahead with their plans. Rick thinks having something to celebrate might be good for the family, but Eric fears they'd just be going through the motions on what should be the happiest day of Donna's life.

Rick offers to be his dad's best man.
Rick agrees, observing that Eric's relationship with Donna is solid enough that it won't matter when the ceremony is. Seeing how Donna leans on Eric when she needs him reminds Rick that sometimes, love is all you need to get you through life, and he offers to make any phone calls to change the ceremony if Eric needs. Eric thanks him for the offer, although it will be up to Donna to decide if they're postponing the ceremony, and she might not decide until tomorrow. He's just glad they're not having a big, complicated wedding. Rick asks who the best man is. Once Eric reminds him that Ridge and Thorne would never stand up for him, Rick offers to be the best man. Eric is moved that Rick wants to stand up for him and accepts the offer.

Nick tries to cheer Katie up.
Nick pops in to Katie's hospital room and asks how the patient is. A nurse says Katie's doing much better, but Katie seems pretty glum. After the nurse leaves, Nick tries to cheer Katie up by telling her that he brought her some pretend pistachios to enjoy, but Katie doesn't react. Nick offers to add some scotch to her I.V., but Katie remains depressed. Nick tries to raise Katie's spirits with some lighthearted banter about her situation, but she still fails to respond. When he finally quips that she's do for a change, whether of tune, address or outfit, Katie finally cracks a tiny smile. Brooke arrives and sees the ever-so-brief change in her sister's demeanor through the window in the door. She watches Nick gives Katie a goodbye kiss on the forehead before he leaves. Once Nick leaves the room, Brooke stops him and thanks him for making her sister smile.

Bridget confides in Nick.
A sobbing Bridget arrives at the Marone mansion looking for Nick. She gets upset when she sees he's not there. When Nick finally arrives, Bridget rushes into his arms and asks him to hold her. Nick asks what's wrong, so Bridget weeps that she still can't believe what Storm did. Nick puts his arms around Bridget and holds her. Nick then sits Bridget down on the couch and asks her when she last ate. She says she hasn't even been able to even think about food, so he tells her to relax on the couch while he fixes her something in the kitchen. Nick gets up to go to the the kitchen, but Bridget asks him to wait. She doesn't want to be alone right now, since she keeps thinking back to Storm's pleas for her to find a heart for Katie. She sobs that she tried and she tried, to no avail, and she feels like her failure to find a heart for Katie pushed Storm into ending his life so he could give his heart to Katie. Nick tells Bridget that Storm made his own choice and reminds her of her part in keeping Katie alive. She was the one who found the surgical team that did the transplant, he points out. Bridget downplays her part, but Nick tells her that Katie is alive because of her. Bridget reminds him that Katie's not out of the woods yet, but Nick points out that Katie's getting better each day, and he even got her to smile when he saw her earlier. Bridget thanks him for telling her that, since it got her to smile, too, and she gives him a hug and a kiss to show her gratitude.

Brooke tries to help Katie.
Back at the hospital, Brooke talks to Katie, informing her how pleased Dr. Patrick is with her progress, but Katie just sighs. Brooke realizes that her sister is obviously thinking about Storm, since she knows she keeps thinking about their brother, too. She admits that the whole thing is so hard to understand, since Storm's life was in such turmoil. The only thing she's grateful for is that all the turmoil has ended, and Storm isn't suffering anymore. She's sure Storm is looking down on them right now, grateful that Katie is alive because of the miraculous gift that he left behind for her. Katie cries out for Brooke to just stop! She doesn't want to talk about Storm right now. Brooke concedes that it's had to talk about, since Storm was such a big part of their lives. It's even been hard on their father, who is torn as he tries to pull together a memorial service for Storm, and the only thing that's holding them all together is knowing that Katie is going to be OK and will be as good as new one day.

Katie declares that her brother was no hero.
Donna comes in and asks Katie how she's doing, noting that she sees some more color in Katie's cheeks. Brooke tells her that Katie is doing better, but she's still upset about Storm. Donna tells Katie that Eric, Rick and even Stephanie sent their best wishes, laughing at the thought that there might actually be a caring human being inside Stephanie. Brooke also laughs at the idea of Stephanie treating a member of their family decently, but Katie doesn't say anything. Donna then tells Katie that she and Eric have talked about postponing the wedding until Katie is better, since it wouldn't feel right without Katie there. Katie, however, fires back that she's never going to be better and wishes that she had died. Donna and Brooke tell her not to talk that way! Donna adds that this wedding is going to happen, even if Storm won't be there to walk her down the aisle. She misses Storm, too, but she's comforted by the fact that there's at least a part of him that lives on inside Katie. "Our brother is so amazing," she comments. "He's a hero." Katie tells her not to say that, since their brother was not a hero! Donna asks how Katie can say that after what Storm did, so Katie retorts that there's no heroism in killing yourself. There's no honor or redemption. Storm has left them behind to live in this hell, so she never wants to hear him called a hero ever again!
