| WATER WORKS | Water works is a fictitious Nuclear Power Plant where energy is produced. Students are enlisted as water quality specialists and are asked to solve the problem of the mysterious glowing water. | FOSSIL FINDS | Paleontologists make discoveries every day. Your class can visit our paleontology lab and make a discovery of their own. They will unearth a mystery object mixed in with dinosaur bones. Once unearthed, the students will have to analyze, describe, and write about what they found. If your class guesses its origin or function, the class can keep it. Students will learn scientific analysis, writing, and critical thinking skills by the end of class. | Introductory | $ 120 |
| PASS OR TRASH | Have you ever given away something and needed it back? Pass or trash is a game designed around grouping and sorting objects based on their properties. Students will receive a collection of items and have to determine which ones they need to pass on to another and which ones get trashed. By the end of the class, the students will get the item they needed back. Organizational (flow) charts, properties and literary skills will be used. | Introductory | $ 120 |

marine ecosystem will be put in the hands of the students. By learning and practicing the
techniques of seining and sampling, student perform a biological survey of the organisms
near and on shore. Participants will analyze and test the physical and chemical parameters

| DNA EXTRACTION | The chromosomes which contain details of life can finally be seen
with the naked eye. Students will unravel the mysteries of genetics and cell anatomy while

| OCEANOGRAPHY & MARINE ECOLOGY | This is the most comprehensive program on Long Island's marine
resources developed for young people or adults. Oceanography techniques will be conducted
aboard a vessel from Captree boat basin. While aboard, participates will perform chemical
analysis of the water, collection & identify planktonic and benthic organisms, by
using nets, trawls & dredges. Class size: 35 students maximum. 3 hours program |

| GENETIC DETECTIVE - DNA FINGERPRINTING | The DNA of each person is unique to them. At the Science Museum we
will perform the process of electrophoresis and learn how modern science helps catch the
