Inventing the future is the title of a book edited by David Wilcox and published by Partnerships Books. Its main claim to fame is perhaps that it want from concept to publication in two weeks - something that would have been impossible without the internet.
The publication was linked to the launch of a UK Futures group which exists to promote discussion about the future and the issues that are raised by social, environmental and technological change.
The UK Futures group is now meeting every three months and is hosted by British Telecom.
I work with a sub group of the UK Futures Group that is particularly concerned about practical techniques that can be used at the local level. If this is of interest you can contact Perry Walker on 0171 377 5696 who works for The Centre for Community Visions is in Whitechapel.
Wendy Schultz, another member of the UKFG community sub group, has her own web site but has unfortunately gone back to the States. Wendy's site is well worth a visit.
