Department DYG * Goats - Youth

Exhibitors in this division must br 19 years of age or younger as of July 1, of the current year.

1. All animals must be on the fairgrounds by 9:00 A.M. Saturday. Judging will begin at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, starting with Showmanship and followed by the other classes. No animals will be released until 6:00 P.M. Sunday, but must be removed by 6:30 P.M.
2. There will be NO preshow milk-out. The judges decision is final.
3. No horned animals or buck allowed on the fairgrounds.
4. All exhibitors shall wear whites in the show ring.
5. All animals mus be free of contagious or infectious disease and fit for show. Each exhibitor must have a current Connecticut show permit or TB and Brucellosis negative certificate dated within one year. All animals must be vaccinated for rabies. See general rules . Vaccinatrion certificates must be signed by an accredited veterinarian.
6. All exhibitors must provide their own hay, grain and bedding.
7. All animals must be owned by exhibitor, lease agreements will be accepted.
8. Purebred, registered animals will be shown separately from grade animals. Registration papers must be shown to the superintendent prior to judging.
9. Pet goats will be shown separately from breed classes.
10. Each exhibitor is responsible for his own animal. Bring tie chains.
11. Exhibitors fees: $ .50 or $4.00 per exhibitor ( see General Fair Rules ) . Per Animal Fees: $ .50 per animal received one week prior to fair. Late entries $1.00 per animal. NO telephone entries.

DYG 6 Kids 6 months to under 12 months

DYG 7 Dry Yearling ( 1 year and under 2 years )

DYG 8 Milkers ( under 2 years )

DYG 9 Milkers ( 2 years to under 3 years )

DYG 10 Milkers ( 3 years to under 5 years )

DYG 11 Milkers ( 5 years and over )

DYG 12 Pet Goats ( does/wethers under 1 year not shown in above classes )

DYG 13 Pet Goats ( does/wethers 1 year and over not shown in above classes )
