The tables below list the criteria a particular penguin exhibit must meet to achieve a particular rating and the categories we use to calculate the 'Penguin Ratings' for zoo and aquaria penguin exhibits.

Rating system

Rating minimum score other conditions
5 Penguin 70 no category less than 3 (except breeding program which must be 2) and at least 6 categories with scores of 5
4 Penguin 60 no more than 4 categories less than 3 and none less than 2 (except breeding program which must be 2) and at least 3 categories with scores of 5
3 Penguin 50 no category less than 2 and at least one category scoring 5
2 Penguin 40
