Preheat oven to 375. 4-5 tart apples 1 T. lemon juice 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. brown sugar,firmly packed 1/4 t. salt 1/4 t. nutmeg 1/2 t. cinnamon 4 T. marg 1/2 c. chopped walnuts |

Pare,core & thinly slice apples to measure 4 cups.Arrange in greased 8" sq baking pan.Sprinkle with lemon juice.Combine flour,sugar,salt,nutmeg, cinnamon.Work in marg til crumbly & add walnuts.Sprinkle crumb mix evenly over apples.Bake 35-45 min til topping is brown & apples are tender.Serve warm with cream,whip topping or ice cream. Makes 6 servings |
