Cranberry Bread Pudding

Preheat oven to 325.

1/2             day old French bread,torn in pieces
1 c.            cranberries,coarsely chopped
1 c.            chopped pecans or walnuts
2 c.            milk
2 c.            half-half
3               eggs,beaten
1 c.            firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c.          sugar
1/4 c.          dark rum
1 T.            vanilla



Combine bread,cranberries,pecans in large bowl;toss gently.Combine milk, half-half;pour over bread mix.Cover,chill 1 hr.Combine eggs,sugars,rum, vanilla;stir well.Add egg mix to chilled bread mix,stir to gently combine.Pour into greased 13x9" baking pan.Bake,uncovered 1 hr,til set lightly browned.Let cool in pan 5 min.Cut in squares;serve warm with maple syrup or hard sauce.
