Ce logiciel vous permettra de découvrir et d'explorer, de manière certes modeste, mais néanmoins, (espoir insensé de l'auteur!) d'une façon intéressante sur le plan graphique, les propriétés mathématiques, artistiques, et gustatives, d'objets mathématiques plus connus sous le doux vocable d'attracteurs étranges.
Ce logiciel n'entend absolument pas concurrencer Fractint, qui reste, pour longtemps encore, la référence en matière de génération et de visualisation de fractales.
Il se contentera de vous faire (re)voir les attracteurs étranges sous un point de vue différent de celui proposé par Fractint, en introduisant la notion de coloration statistique, que je vous laisse le plaisir de découvrir vous-même...
Pour information, ce logiciel fonctionne sur tout environnement compatible Microsoft Windows, en version 32 bits. Il requiert au minimum 4 megaoctets de mémoire vive. L'usage d'une carte graphique SVGA est recommandé.
J'ai décidé de publier maintenant ce logiciel sous licence GPL. Vous pourrez donc télécharger la version binaire ainsi que les sources.

This software will enable you to discover and explore, in a modest manner, the endless and fascinating realm of strange attractors. Strange attractors are mathematical objects which exhibit somewhat unusual properties. Wether you are in search of a tool that will help you to understand some of these mathematical properties in a graphics oriented manner or an aesthete looking for new ways to create interesting graphics and pictures, this software is made for you !
However, it does not pretend to challenge the performances of Fractint (Copyright the Stone Soup Group) which remains, and is due to remain for quite a long time, THE reference fractals generation and exploration software.
It will enable you to (re)discover strange attractors from a new viewpoint, introducing the notion of statistical colouring. This is quite different from the random colouring process proposed by Fractint. I let you discover it yourself and hope you will enjoy it. In order to operate properly, this software requires Microsoft Windows 95 or any higher version. You'll need at least 4 megabytes of available RAM and a VGA compatible display. For best performance it is recommended to have at hand a SVGA card and 8 megabytes of RAM.
This software is now distributed under the terms and conditions of the GPL license. You will be able to download the binary executables along with the source code.
