ABOUT ZAMORA - A REMINDER
-
The Westerly Medway is very large internally for her 36ft overall length,
while with a draught of 6ft and beam of 11ft she is still small enough
to get into the many tiny and attractive harbours and anchorages. She is
a very sturdily built and sea kindly yacht, and would be safe and comfortable
to sail anywhere, and in almost any conditions. ZAMORA is especially well
laid out for this type of cruising, (see layout below), and is fitted with
Radar, GPS, Navtex, DSC VHF and all the standard navigational instruments
and publications. Domestically, she has full cooking facilities, refrigerator,
pressurised water system and shower, central heating system, cutlery, crockery,
bedding, lifejackets and safety harnesses. In short, she has everything
you need except your personal clothing (which should include waterproof
clothing and rubber-soled footwear, preferably sailing boots,) your overnight
gear and towels. Food and drink will be provided at cost price for single
weeks in the Firth of Clyde, and for the first week of each of the extended
cruises, unless you are joining for one of these weeks in a family or group.
In this case you will be asked to do the catering, and I will pay for my
share of what you supply. During the balance of the extended cruises, stores
will have to be replenished at the main harbours. Arrangements will be
discussed with existing and oncoming crew members, and the cost will be
shared equitably among those on board.
