OBITUARY
Robert
(Bob) Brown
Bob Brown, faithful servant
of Northampton Town Hockey Club and Northamptonshire Hockey passed away on
Monday 22nd May.
Bob was Chairman of the
Lions for three years from 1996-98, during which time he guided the club from
near collapse into the successful and bustling club it is today. His enthusiasm
and dedication to the club was second to none.
Outside the club Bob's
support for hockey was even greater. His work with Northamptonshire Schoolboys
was what he seemed to enjoy most. Not willing to be just a parent, Bob threw
himself into the role of Chairman and more recently became Manager for the
Under 21 team. Bob was a true
ambassador to Northamptonshire Hockey, he was always present when called upon,
and was recognised and liked by everyone.
Those of us who knew Bob
well will know that he was an honest and caring man whose willingness to
support and lead was relentless and always from the heart. His presence will be
missed deeply but he will never be forgotten.
Our thoughts are with his
wife Brenda and sons Aaron and Shea.
