The New Davrian Register was founded in 1993 and is open to all those who are interested in Davrians and Darrians. Currently, the Register lists over 200 owners and enthusiasts.
The main intention of the register is to provide a central focus for owners, and to publicise the Davrian and Darrian marques so as to introduce them to a wider audience. The register also holds a list of "Cars for Sale" and "Cars Wanted" (see "Exchange and Mart" page).
In 1995, an all-Davrian class was run for the first time at the Longleat Hillclimb, the event being won by Robs Barkfield in a transverse Ford-powered Mk8 (Dragon), with Ken Banks 3rd in the first of the Imp-engined cars. The class has since run again at this event in 1996 and 1997. However, since '98 the Davrians have returned to the conventional class structure whilst also competing for the New Davrian Register "Handicap Challenge" (see "Latest Davrian News" for further details)
There is a subscription of £6.00 to cover the cost of the annual newsletter, which is normally published during the first quarter of the year.
The New Davrian Register can also supply a variety of regalia items. Please access the "Regalia" page for full details.
In 2008, the Longleat Hillclimb will move from its traditional date in September to the weekend of 5th and 6th July.
The New Davrian Register wishes to thank The Imp Club and in particular the organisers of the Imp Club National Weekend (Peter Fitzgerald and Colin Rooney) for enabling us to take part in what turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable event.
1. Tim Duffee can now supply faired headlamp covers for the Mk8 at £100 per pair + P+P + VAT. 2. The Mk6 Davrian returns ! - further information will follow when available.
Copies should now have been circulated to all paid up NDR members (see release date above). If you have not yet paid but wish to receive a copy, or have failed to receive your expected copy, please contact John Rawlins (see contact details below).
The following are links to on-line videos featuring Davrians and Darrians.
If you know of any web-based Davrian / Darrian video links, please send details to the NDR, so that they may be added to this section.
The hardback version has now almost sold out but a paperback version is available (ISBN Code 1870519-65-5) at a cost of £18.99. N.B. If ordered direct from the author by NDR or Imp Club members, this price is inclusive of postage and packing.
For all the Imp enthusiasts out there, Martin's new book, entitled "The British Saloon Car Championship (1958-1972)" and subtitled "Highlighting the Triple-Winning Era of the Bevan and McGovern Imp", has now been published. For further details, please contact the author.
