Physics is such fun that I read for my first degree at Hull University, and then for my Master's at London University (Chelsea College) where I worked on Ellipsometry. I then spent eight years lecturing in further education before spending three years in businness management (hi fi). Then I moved to Kelly College, a lovely Public School in Devon, in the SW of England, where I ran the Science and Technology departments and directed the IT. I recently took the opportunity to retire early from Kelly to have more time to develop further my varied interest, and I have also returned to lecturing, but part time, in Further Education.
At Kelly I ran the City and Guilds radio amateur course for the pupils so that they could obtain their own licence, and set up the station GX4COF.
I also started an Astronomical Society for the school and community.
While at Kelly I also developed a great interest in sailing.
I have been a Christian believer for much of my life.
My other interests include adventure training (I enjoy walking on the moor and helping supervise D of E), computing, travel, music and the theatre. To find out more click below.
